Our Philosophy

T
he old expression "You Get What You Pay For" applies perfectly to the Mobile DJ Industry. If you are willing to settle for just average, then simply pay the going rate that many disc jockey companies charge. However, if you are looking for Experience, Professionalism, and Fun, consider the many successful events that Mobile Sound Productions has been a part of over the last twenty five years.  My quality and service far exceed my rates.

The entertainment you choose will be one of the most important aspects of your event. If the DJ you hire does not have much experience or you are getting a price too good to be true, he/she probably has just enough experience to ruin it. I must tell you...this is one of those times that you will get what you pay for. Pricing is important, but ask "What kind of value will I receive for your service?"  Your special day cannot be re-done and you do not want to realize you hired the wrong person on the day of your wedding, so please take your time and really check out who you are considering.

Please remember, after all your hours of planning, and all the expense of your event, the success will come right down to how well your disc jockey has done his/her job.  Also, ask yourself: "Am I going to hire the cheapest DJ, even if they are not any good?"  If I can be of any service to you, or you are just looking for price information please feel free to contact me by phone or use the on-line form located on the
Book Your Event page.

Consider this question:  "How important is your special event?"
I
n post-event surveys, clients stated that the contribution disc jockey services made towards the overall success of their event was 85%!  The success or failure of your event depends upon the quality of service you receive from your disc jockey. These are entertainment driven events. Even though food, photos, and decor is important, it is not the food, it is not the photos, nor is it the decor that determines the overall success of your event! The DJ entertainer is the difference between, "it’s just another social gathering I'm obligated to go to" OR you and your guests taking away magical memories of your celebration that will be etched in your minds for a lifetime.  In the Central Valley, the average per person cost for a vegetable platter is $8.00. Multiply that by an average event of 150 people and that totals $1238.00.  Is the success of your event worth more than what you would pay for a vegetable platter?  The current national average spent on a wedding is $20,000.  In the Fresno/Visalia area, the average is about $18,000.   The disc jockey is responsible for 85% of the success of your reception, so doesn't it make sense that a truly professional disc jockey, is not only worth more than a vegetable platter, but would also charge more?

Consider why many disc jockeys charge under $900 for services:

*They don't all offer the services a true professional disc jockey should.
This means, home stereo equipment, a limited music library, no back-up equipment, little or no advance planning and little or no coordination, which will lead to major problems for any event.

*Many disc jockeys have little professional training.
They figure if they can play a CD or I-POD, they can run what is probably one of  one of the most important days of your life, YOUR WEDDING, or your important special event.  Few DJ's realize that the success or failure of your event lies completely in their hands.  Recently, a photographer told me he was doing a wedding and the DJ showed up with a laptop and laptop speakers...yes, he was DJ-ing with laptop speakers!  Totally unprofessional and inadequate for something as important as a wedding.

* Many disc jockeys take as many jobs as they can.
They may even sub-contract out your event to part time DJ's, or their friends whose experience and quality may be even worse. There is no consistency of quality you can depend on, and you may have not have even talked to the person that shows up at your event!

If your special event is a wedding reception, bar/bat mitzvah,
corporate event, school dance, or a private party, your concerns and questions about the disc jockey you hire should go far above just the music.
It takes training, experience, and expertise, to coordinate and sequence the events of the day, program and mix the music, entertain your guests, and create lasting memories. It takes experience to lead your event with just the right finesse. Your investment in entertainment and coordination is the most crucial one in regard to the success of your event. If magical memories are what you are looking for, do your absolute best to hire the most experienced DJ entertainer.

I think you can tell that I am passionate about what I do.  This is the reason I took the time to put this page together for you.  The bottom line is this…
If you are paying less than $900 for your disc jockey, you are taking a mighty big chance that you will get a DJ who is not a true professional, and/or the possibility that your special event will be contracted out to someone who's even less qualified than the person you thought you hired.  They may even cancel close to your event date or just not show up.  I regularly get calls at the last minute due to this.

Good luck with your planning!!
